Finding your favorite songs by humming a tune? Google has just introduced such a possibility. Hum-to-search function will surely appeal not only to music lovers, but to everyone who has ever tried to find a song based on a short fragment of it.

How to use Hum-to-search?

Hum-to-search allows you to find a song by humming or whistling the bars and words of the song. To activate it, you need to use Google Assistant. It is very important to whistle or hum a song for at least 10 to 15 seconds. This will give Hum-to-search time to process the information. In a short period of time, we will see some of the most likely results on the screen. It is especially valuable that we will get hints about the probability of the correct result expressed in percentages

Hum-to-search – a novelty in Google

Until now Google did not offer a similar feature and in this context it is a big improvement. However, it is worth remembering that there are similar applications designed to search for music by its short fragment. Examples include SoundHound or Shazam (this one, however, recognizes songs based on recorded sound). Despite this, it is estimated that Hum-to-search will be extremely useful. The question “what song is that?” appears in Google up to 100 million times during one month.
